DOCTORAL SCHOOL #353 “Engineering Sciences: mechanics, physics, micro and nanoelectronics”
The “Engineering Sciences: Mechanics, Physics, Micro and Nanoelectronics” doctoral school focuses on the analysis and modelling of complex physics systems. Macroscopic continuum mechanics are an example of a complex system choice. The doctoral school’s main disciplines in this field are Mechanics and Physics of Continuum Mechanics (solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, acoustics, thermal science, energetics, and biomechanics). The main fields of application are materials, transport, energy, environment, health and musical creation. The other complex physics systems that are taught at the doctoral school are centred on micro and nanoelectronics, information and communication science and techniques, mainly focusing on “components, integrated circuits and systems”. One of the doctoral school’s main features is to be deeply rooted in “engineering sciences”. Therefore, it plays a prominent part in the transfer of PhD graduates toward the industrial sector or associated services, as well as in the translation of industrial issues into down-to-earth thesis subjects.
